The Journey of the School Development

Secondary

Our School is all set to celebrate its Platinum Jubilee just round the corner in 2009. For any educational institution 75 years existence is an achievement by itself. Such occasions provide us the opportunity to pause and look back at our glorious past and get inspired by their out standing achievements. These mile-stones are of much importance as ours is a Girls school started in 1934, when education for girls was not considered essential.

The school started with merely 151 girls in a Government leased building, continued to flourish under the management if the Sarvajanik Educational Society. Today, we have monumental building with 21 classes where nearly 1200 girls toil to make their future, making the campus lively and bubbling with enthusiasm. Our staff diligently put in their best to mould the future giving a tiny but none the less importance contribution to the progress of our Nation.

The new building which stands before us now was constructed in 1960 and was named after the generous donation from Smt. Kablibai L. S. Khandwala Charitable trust in the year 1975. To keep pace with the changing times, the Higher Secondary section was started in 1977 and in 1984 a spacious meeting Hall was constructed. Spacious and well ventilated class rooms, Wide corridors and monumental architecture of the school building provides a heritage look of the whole campus when the evening shadows fall. Right from the morning even before the Sun rays reach, small girls start coming in, making the whole atmosphere euphoric and full of pleasant noise. The well knit family of our staff dedicate themselves to the ideal cause of education creating an environment of learning in this Sarswati Temple.

We are Proud of our glorious past and innumerable achievements in academic, cultural, sports and other co-curricular activities. Outstanding performance all round have glorified the pages of the history of our school. The school has attained highest laurels even in cultural field leaving the foot print on time even at the state level. Our young girls have put the school on the national map in activities like Yoga, Gymnasium and Volley Ball competitions.

History is always glorified by the laurels one achieves bus this could not have become possible without the untiring efforts from the staff members and excellent leadership provided by the Head of the School. Many names go down in the history, who benevolently leads this institution against all odds. The story would be incomplete without the mention of smt. Alaben Cooper, Smt. Foraben Mehta, Smt. Freni Majmudar, Smt. Ushaben Kaji, Smt. Minaxiben Shukhla, Smt. Pratimaben Padhya, who lead this institution and contributed immensely to the growth and development.

Our present Principal Smt. Alka Mehta is a live wire personality full of enthusiasm and zeal. An able leader, who is strong like unbreakable tip of a drill tool, but is tender at heart like a loving mother, she instilled new breath in the school by her vision and dynamic leadership. The school will celebrate its platinum Jubilee and will add one more golden page in our wonderful history under her Headship.

With changing time, the education system has also changed. We have adapted to the changes .We have a beautiful well laid Computer Center and facilities for Audio Visual Education, Handy Craft ,Drawing classes are the glittering jewels in the school. Guidance for vocational courses is also provided to the students. Most importantly Society and other charitable institutions offer free ships, Scholarship, free uniform and free books to the needy students. In short we strive to provide cheap and quality education and serve the nation in whatever small way we can.

The spanking academic record of 97% at H.S.C. and 81% at S.S.C. Board examinations are eye catching. Activities like Eco Club, Science Club, Maths Club, Sports Club, Drawing Club, English Club, and high profile cultural activities with eye catching Garba and Raas are the emeralds, ruby and diamonds set on success crown of our school.

This progress tree is being nurtured by the caring hands of Sarvajanik Education Society visionary approach. Parents association, Mothers’ association, enthusiastic staff and our wonderful students without whose support we have never been where we are today.
